As the founder and President of Love Africa Mission, Nathan is passionate about life change for students serving on teams year after year in Africa. As an international speaker, he has been preaching the Gospel for decades all over the world, partnering with ministries like Compassion International, YWAM, Youth For Christ, Young Life, FCA, Africa Inland Mission, and countless churches. Nathan led his first team to Kenya in 2007, where he spoke at Rift Valley Academy and CURE Hospital. Since that time, Nathan has recruited, equipped, and sent hundreds of people on student and adult teams to East Africa because he knows that Jesus will break their hearts for the nations just as his heart was broken.
Nathan’s passion and love for people translates throughout all of his ministries as he points everyone he meets to Jesus. If you close your eyes while he speaks in his African accent you might mistake him for a native.
John Ballentine currently serves as board treasurer. He is the Director of Administration and Finance with Palmetto Health’s graduate medical education program. John holds an undergraduate degree in political science and a masters in business administration, both from the University of South Carolina.
John has served on past missions teams to both the Bahamas and Zambia. John, his wife Carrie, and 4 children (Jacob, Anna-Greer, Ben & Lolly) are members of Columbia Crossroads Church and where Carrie has served as director of worship and John has served as deacon.
Ian Geimer has served as a board member for Love Africa Mission since the fall of 2017. He was called to be pastor of Kingstree First Baptist Church in the summer of 2016. Pastor Ian and his wife Carrie, formerly served at Lexington Baptist Church. God has gifted Ian as a visionary leader and teacher. He has a passion to teach the Word and minister side-by-side with church members to see people come to a saving faith in Jesus. Ian and Carrie have 2 young children, Nora and Landon.
John Stockstill has served as a board member for Love Africa Mission since the fall of 2017. He serves as a chaplain with the United States Navy, working primarily with our special forces. His wife Shauna is a local artist in Laurel Mississippi where they live with their boys Dylan and Micah, and their daughter Lily.
